I received my Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Maryland, College park in 1975 after completing undergraduate and graduate work at Northern Illinois University. This is my 48th year teaching microbiology at the Community College of Baltimore County and I can't imagine not doing this. My professional interest is writing and constructing goal-relevant learning tools for microbiology students and now making them available as OERs. In my other life I am a musician in two bands playing saxophones, clarinets, flutes, and guitar. This is my first OER conference and I am looking forward to meeting like-minded people and learning what they are doing.
